Matt Rafferty began work at the company at the age of 18 following completion of his A-Levels. Whilst working for the company he attended University on a part time basis and achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management.

Matt has been mentored by his father Nick, who in turn was mentored by his father Sam, and so passes the specialist knowledge and business acumen through the generations of the family.

After 11 years of mentoring and experience and with the agreement of the board of directors, Matt was appointed Managing Director of the Company in 2014. In his first year as Managing Director, the company achieved its highest ever recorded turnover and profit.

Matt is extremely proud of the history and heritage of the Company and is determined to continue with the ethos the past generations of his family have believed in. He is committed to growing the business through diversification and investing in new technology and safety. His ultimate ambition would be for the Company to employ a 4th generation of the family and achieve 100 years in business.
